Intro: What does this text say about faith?
THE OBJECT OF FAITH
THE RESPONSE OF FAITH
THE FRUIT OF FAITH
YOU CAN PRAY WITH US …
1. Praise the LORD, God Almighty that He is utterly worthy of our trust. Praise Him, Father, Son and Holy Spirit for His steadfastness, especially with Christ as your Ransom, the Father as your Provider, and the Spirit as your Deposit and Guarantee of every good promise.
2. How have you lived simply selfish and distrustful of your Maker? Confess your pride and unbelief in God’s provision for you, asking Jesus to wash you and heal you to trust Him as you should.
3. Give thanks to Jesus for keeping every promise made to us by the LORD even when we've been the ones breaking faith with Him. Thank Him for keeping His Word even to His own hurt and delivering us from all of the ruin that we have caused by our sin and rebellion.
4. Who do you know that lives independent of the Lord rather than trusting Him with all their heart? Pray for them, asking the Lord to help them grow in knowing Him in all their ways.
5. Ask the Holy Spirit to bear in you His fruit of love and faithfulness. Pray that as He is faithful, that He would work into us His own character, as individuals, as an entire congregation, and toward our city.
