DAVID’S SINS & SONS

TAMAR’S SHAME

LONGING FOR A BETTER KING

YOU CAN PRAY WITH US …

1. Praise God, who is the one true King. Praise Him for being trustworthy and just and for promising to make all things right.

2. Consider the ways in which we are passive and silent (David) in the midst of injustice. Where are we tempted to use others (like Amnon) and where are we impatient to wait on the Lord’s justice (Absalom).

3. Give thanks to God for His promise to be our Judge and Defender. Thank Jesus for His incredible work to bear our sin and shame on the cross.

4. Who do you know that has experienced injustice? How can you move toward them with compassion and hope? Where do you need to stop being silent? Where do you need to entrust your anger to the Lord?

5. Ask the Spirit to fill you with the heart of God and the character of Christ. Pray that He would help you look to Christ for redemption, renewal and restoration.
