INTRO: How highly do you value the ability to communicate?

THE WORD OF CREATION
If Jesus embodies God speaking, what does that reveal about our Creator?

THE UNWELCOME WORD
How is sin an absence of hospitality to our Maker?

FULL OF TRUTH & GRACE
Why did His coming, however unwelcome, save our lives?

YOU CAN PRAY WITH US …

1. Worship the LORD, our Maker, the God of all truth and the One who hears us at all times. Praise Him, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, for His abiding initiative, that He both speaks and listens to us in His perfect love.

2. How have you lived in either active or passive defiance to God and His Word? Confess your refusal to listen to the LORD as your Maker, asking Him to forgive you and to soften your heart to value Him as you should.

3. Give thanks to Jesus for His coming to our rescue in spite of our sin. Thank Him for His unfailing love, for His truth — confronting us in our need, and His grace — saving us when we didn’t deserve it.

4. Who do you know who has tended not to welcome God or His Word in their life? Pray for them, asking the Lord to help convince them of their need for Him, and to overcome their darkness with His Light.

5. Ask the Holy Spirit to bear in you His fruit of love, joy and goodness. Pray for the Spirit’s work in your life to ground you and help you grow as a person of His Word, from His creation of you to your full redemption.
