INTRO: By your thinking, how present or absent is God, your Maker?
GENESIS 1 ALL OVER AGAIN
What is significant about the God of Creation is also the God of Redemption?
WHAT ABOUT THE ABSENCE?
Why is the promise of presence even needed?
DWELLING WITH US IN GLORY
In salvation, how does Jesus provide what no one else can?
YOU CAN PRAY WITH US …
- Worship the LORD that He has not hidden Himself but has made Himself known to us instead. Praise Him, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, that He has revealed Himself in His Word and in the Person of Jesus.
- How have you resisted, ignored, or openly defied your Maker? Confess your rebellion and sin to Jesus, asking Him to forgive you as He’s promised, and to renew you to rejoice in His lordship.
- Give thanks to Jesus for becoming flesh to save us, where we could never save ourselves. Thank Him for dwelling here with us to do what we cannot, and so that we could finally see what flesh and blood had never seen before — God, with us.
- Who do you know that lives in darkness, whether spiritual, relational, or intellectual? Ask the Lord to make Himself known to them as He has to you, interceding with Him on their behalf.
- Ask the Holy Spirit to give you wisdom and insight into His Word, especially that Jesus is God with us. Ask Him to help you know His incomparable love, worth, and power in the Gospel.
