INTRO: When has someone broken a long silence and you were glad?

WHOSE VOICE IS LOUDEST?
Why do we need God’s revelation?

THE VOICE OF GOD
Why can we be “established in the truth?”

LIGHT IN THE DARKNESS
How does this capture our attention and clarify our focus?

YOU CAN PRAY WITH US …

1. Worship the LORD who has revealed Himself and His Covenant of grace to save sinners like us! Praise Him, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, that He has given us His Word in revelations, commands and saving promises.
2. How have you lived more shaped by your own speculations or imagination than by God’s Word? Confess your pride and unbelief to Jesus, asking Him to forgive you and to secure you that He is trustworthy in every regard.
3. Give thanks to Jesus for His work to save us, both keeping the Father’s commands and being punished for our disobedience to them. Thank Him that His promises to save are true, and that He kept His word to His own hurt.
4. Who do you know that lives in darkness? Pray for them, asking the Lord to give light to them even as He has to you, and that He would use you in their life as He used other believers in your life.
5. Ask the Holy Spirit to bear in you His fruit of love, patience and faithfulness. Read the Assurance of Pardon again, and pray for insight into Scripture as He is its Author, and Jesus is its Subject.
