Why is a lack of humility such a serious problem?

Versus the ravages of pride, how is the redemptive work of Jesus restorative and eternal?

YOU CAN PRAY WITH US …

1. Praise and worship the LORD, God Almighty, for His glory and power. Praise Him, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit that He is exalted above every created thing, above all that is or can be, in His supremacy and greatness.

2. How have you lived exalting yourself, your own opinion, comfort, or reputation? Confess your arrogance to Jesus, the lowly Savior, and ask Him to cleanse and transform you by His Spirit.

3. Give thanks to Jesus for how He has worked precisely through lowliness in order to raise us up with Him. Thank Him for His work to restore what we ruined and secure us eternally vs. temporary hopes and desires.

4. Who do you know that is conceited? Pray for them, that God would grant them a humble spirit and that He would use you (which means that He will likely have to do something to them to break them or you or both).

5. Ask the Holy Spirit to grow you in humility, especially in your view of God’s authority over you, and in your view of others. Pray for grace to humble yourself under God’s hand or rule (“Thy kingdom come”).
