INTRO: How can you live in a world that rejects your values?

GLORY REVEALED & RESTING
How is the LORD holy and glorious?

SURPRISE & SHAME
Foolishly, how can we lose sight of eternity and the world’s hatred?

GOSPEL PERSPECTIVE & HOPE
Why can we find our sense of security, worth, and joy in the LORD?

YOU CAN PRAY WITH US …

1. Worship the LORD for His surpassing glory. Praise Him, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, that no one and nothing has greater power, worth, or beauty than He does.

2. How have you lived as if suffering for Jesus is a surprise? Or as if the rejection of others is a verdict on your soul?  Confess your unbelief to Jesus, asking Him to forgive you and to secure you by His saving love.

3. Give thanks to Jesus for entering into our fires, insults, and shame to save us by His grace. Thank Him for guaranteeing hope through pain and the loss of temporary things because of the eternal glory He offers us instead.

4. Who do you know whose glory quotient (what or whom they typically look to for power, worth or beauty) is only in this world? Pray for them, asking the Lord to help them to see the difference between now and eternity, and between created things, and the LORD our Creator.

5. Ask the Holy Spirit to bear in you His fruit: love, joy, and patience. Pray that the Spirit would help you trust the bond you have with Jesus, the inexhaustible joy He gives, and that He is worth waiting for in this fallen realm.
