Intro: How can the church at Antioch help us think well about church planting?
FUTURE GRACE
Before anything actually happens, what is God doing?
TRANSLATION PLEASE
What do we do when the familiar meets the unfamiliar?
THE IMPACT OF GENEROSITY
What do you do when the Person messing with your comfort isn’t Satan, but Jesus?
YOU CAN PRAY WITH US …
-
Worship the LORD that as the Owner of all things, especially His Church, that He is generous. Praise Him, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, that He is the Lord and Giver of Life.
-
How have you lived risk-averse and cautious in the face of God’s call to give and love others, especially the lost? Confess your selfish fear to Jesus, asking Him to forgive you and secure you in your heart.
-
Give thanks to Jesus for His stunning generosity to love and act to save us in the Gospel. Thank Him for giving Himself for us, in our place, by His life and death, and for giving His Spirit to us, to live in our hearts.
-
Who do you know that struggles with fear or selfishness? Pray for them, asking the Lord to help them to see His incomparable generosity to them (what do they have that He didn’t give to them?) even in their selfishness.
-
Ask the Spirit to bear in you His fruit of love and generosity. Pray for the Spirit’s work to so secure you in Jesus’ generous work for you that He would free you from fear and self-concern.
