A LOOMING THREAT
What is more threatening than death? And why is it so overwhelming?

THE ONLY DELIVERER
How did this psalmist look at the LORD’s grace in the midst of his fears?

WHAT FOLLOWS?
How did this believer respond to all that the LORD had done to rescue Him? 

YOU CAN PRAY WITH US …

1. Worship the LORD, the Great I AM, who is the Living God. Praise Him, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, that He is able to deliver His people from death, and seal within us life eternal.
2. How have you lived either naive about death or haunted by its shadow? Confess your frailty to Jesus, and your participation in the sin of Adam, asking Him to forgive you and secure you as only He can.
3. Give thanks to Jesus for His work to save us. Thank Him for entering our state of shame and death (through His Incarnation and atoning death) to get us out by His resurrection power and grace.
4. Who do you know that lives in the shadow of death, and yet with fear? Pray for them, asking the Lord to help them see their genuine vulnerability in their own power, but that they could find hope in Jesus.
5. Ask the Holy Spirit to bear in you His fruit of love and joy. Pray that as the Spirit seals to you Jesus’ grace, you would be buoyant in the face of death and that your love for Jesus and others would grow.
