INTRO: Why is Jesus’ appearance to His disciples so significant?
WHY WE NEED PEACE
Why do we need Jesus’ offer of peace?
THE PEACE JESUS BRINGS
How did Jesus speak as if He believed that we have a need?
THE IMPACT OF GRACE VS. DOUBTS
Therefore, what can we learn from Jesus’ responses to His needy disciples, especially Thomas?
YOU CAN PRAY WITH US …
- Worship our God Almighty, Lord of Life and the grave! Praise and adore Him for His goodness that in His power He went through death to gain our wellbeing and forgiveness and that He gives us His Spirit.
- How have you lived practically denying that Jesus cares for you and conquered sin and death? Confess your pride and fear to Jesus, asking Him to forgive you and change you.
- Give thanks to Jesus for His victory over sin, death, Satan, and hell. Thank Him for His gifts of atonement and Spirit, where He has worked to remove everything threatening and guarantee to us forever everything good.
- Who do you know that lives in turmoil and brokenness? Pray for them, asking Jesus to show Himself to them in His living power and kindness and that He would use you to encourage them with hope.
- Ask the Holy Spirit to produce in your heart courage and an obedient attitude. Pray over how He has given you everything when you’ve done nothing, and then pray for the willingness to do anything He calls you to do.
