INTRO: After a storm, how do you choose what to repair first?

WHAT WAS WRONG?
How had God’s people gotten off track?

WHY DOES THE TEMPLE MATTER SO MUCH?
In an intrinsically secular culture, how can we grasp why the Temple was so important?

THEREFORE, THIS BEFORE THAT
Therefore, how does God’s worth and His work define our priorities?

YOU CAN PRAY WITH US …

1. Worship the LORD, the Holy One, hallow His Name! Praise Him, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, that He is above, ahead, and superior to anything and everything else.
2. How have you lived in self-interest, giving more focus and passion to your own interests than you give to your Maker, His people and His mission? Confess your selfishness to Jesus, asking Him to forgive you and change you.
3. Give thanks to Jesus for the miracle of His love, making more of us than He made of His own comforts or rights. Thank Him for being willing to be punished for our selfishness and sharing with us His generous heart.
4. Who do you know who excels in generosity and building up other believers? Pray for them, asking the Lord to fuel, guide and protect them in their good work of loving God and His people.
5. Ask the Holy Spirit to bear in you His fruit of love and goodness. Pray for His transforming work in your own heart to help you see how deeply the Lord has valued you and to move you to value other believers just as well.
