July 14, 2022 Speaker: Tim Rice Series: Why We Believe

Passage: John 14:1-11

Memory Verse for the Week: John 14:6-7 (ESV)

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you had known me, you would have known my Father also. From now on you do know him and have seen him.”

Intro: Have you ever heard, “All paths lead to God”?

WHY IS THIS A STRUGGLE?
Our culture and generation struggle with exclusive claims

WHAT IF JESUS IS TRUE?
What are the most significant claims here?

WILL YOU TRUST HIM?
How does Jesus invite you to trust Him?

YOU CAN PRAY WITH US …

1. Worship the LORD, the God of our Salvation. Praise Him, Father, Son and Holy Spirit for how kind He is to reveal to us certainties, and how trustworthy He is in what – for now – remains a mystery to us.

2. How have you been foolish to doubt what is plainly true and to worry over what is beyond your understanding? Confess your pride and love of control to Jesus, and ask Him to forgive you and deepen your trust.

3. Give thanks to Jesus for being the way out of condemnation and destruction and to the Father and redemption, through faith. Thank Him that with all of His authority, He came to atone for all of our sins.

4. Who do you know that is cynical or suspicious of Jesus’ trustworthiness? Pray for them, asking the Lord to make Himself known to them in all of His truth and kindness.

5. Ask the Holy Spirit to grow you in your patience and trust in His wisdom. Ask Him to give you peace in mystery and confidence in all that has been revealed to us in His Word and through Christ.

Looking Back

The Facilitator is a study tool designed to help you engage with the weekly sermon through the five elements we incorporate in our Community Groups; Get Acquainted & Sharing, Sermon Study, Mission, Worship and Prayer.
