Memory Verse for the Week: 1 John 1:5-7 (ESV)

This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.

YOU CAN PRAY WITH US ...

1. Read 1 John 2:1-2 again. How does having an Advocate lead you to worship and enjoy the Lord more?

2. Pray and confess the areas of your life that do not match up. Where are the gaps between what you say and how you live? Confess areas of sin you love and areas of obedience you do not want to follow.

3. Give thanks to Jesus, your Advocate, who is your sacrifice. Praise Him for His personal love for you in cleansing you from all sin due to His finished work on the Cross.

4. Ask the Holy Spirit to bring you to the light. Ask Him to help you confess sin boldly, reveal blind spots, and live a life joyfully obedient to the LORD.
