Advent 2017 Preparation

advent playlist wide

It’s the most wonderful time of the year!

I’ve been waiting a year to say that. We are so excited to celebrate Advent 2017 with all of you. The worship team is gearing up with some of our past favorites and timeless classics, the pastoral staff is diving into prep for the Songs of Luke and the Advent meditation guide is nearly ready for distribution. It’s a shift in gears. We change our focus to the joyful, eager expectation of Christ’s coming as a baby. As Tim said last Sunday, we’ve been dealing with some heavy stuff in Romans. Hard things, yet important things for everyone to grapple with. Now we turn our gaze to a baby born in the humblest of circumstances, the God of the universe wrapped in human flesh, sent to redeem us! Miracle of miracles!

This year we want to invite you to worship with us during the week using the Advent guide, which will be available to you Sunday, November 19, and we also (yes, you guessed it) made an Advent playlist. The playlist includes many of the songs we will sing on Sundays, along with several that are just great to use for personal worship. If you’re not already following us on Spotify, click here to go to our main page and follow! Here you will find resources for home worship, from playlists we use for corporate worship to the artists whose work you hear on Sundays. Singing plays a crucial role in our relationship to our God. Did you know that in heaven there is singing 24/7? Non-stop singing around the throne. Time to start practicing now, amen?

We would also like to invite you to come decorate the church for Christmas. Saturday, December 2, at 9am, we will meet in the sanctuary to decorate Christmas trees and hang garland. There will be coffee, cruffins and music of course. Hope to see you there! Questions? Or to RSVP email me at rachel@trinitylakeland.org.

We love all of you and look forward to seeing you this Sunday,
