Children's Ministry Announcement & Survey

Dear Trinity Members and Regular Attenders,

I am excited to announce that we will begin a Kids' Worship program (or “Children’s Church”) for first through fifth graders this fall. Over the past several months, I have been working to develop this plan through feedback from the parents at Trinity and by researching and visiting similar churches in our area.  Once I secured the approval of the Children’s Ministry Leadership Team, I presented my plan to the elders of Trinity who unanimously approved it a few weeks ago.

The general structure is going to be very similar to what we are currently doing in Kids’ Worship for the preschoolers and kindergarteners.  The first through fifth graders will stay in the sanctuary and worship with their parents until the sermon begins.  Then, they’ll be dismissed to the Fellowship Hall where they will participate in a short time of large group worship.  Following worship, they will break into two smaller groups. First through third grade will stay in the Fellowship Hall, and the fourth and fifth grade will move into the student room. Once in the smaller groups, they will engage in an age-appropriate bible lesson and have time to build relationships with one another.  Kids’ Worship for kindergarten through fifth grade will not meet on Communion Sunday.

To run a successful Kids’ Worship program for first through fifth grade we will need 28 volunteers. This is in addition to the 97 volunteers we are already using for infants through kindergarten, for a total of 125 volunteers per month.  Please take a moment over the course of the next two weeks to let us know how you can help!  I have attached a link to a short survey below. This survey is intended for current volunteers, past volunteers, and people who have attended Trinity for at least six months, but have not yet volunteered with Children’s Ministry.  Parents, if you have a child who is in the sixth grade or higher, please have them fill out a survey as well.  The survey can be taken more than once from the same device.

I look forward to hearing from you all!
